Why one step?

Because we realised newly arrived and former refugees may find it hard to connect with locals.
We want to build mutual understanding and empathy, one step at a time.

Few simple steps

Going for a walk seems a pretty simple thing to do.

Who will you walk with?

Our recipe for the perfect walk is that we have no secret.
But the one thing we always do is try to match people up and let them walk in a group. How do we do that?

All over the world

OneStep people are from all over the world. You'll have a chance to meet and share thoughts with people from any background.

Preferred language

Language sometimes can be a barrier. Sometimes it's also just the perfect way to open up to a new world. We try to find the right balance matching up people that can easily communicate

Similar interests

Similar age, parents with kids and a lot more, we always try to match people up that have something in common. Sometimes we try to do the opposite, and guess what? That works perfecty too.

Group of people

This is not a one-on-one interview, confessing your stories and your untold sins. We always prefer to group people up in small teams of four or five people. That will help you to have the right dynamics during the walk.

Did you know?

The number of people forcibly displaced worldwide is estimated
by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at 65.3 million

Acceptance starts with all of us

We believe in the simple idea that no matter who you are, where you're from, who you love, or who you worship, you deserve to belong. We know this is an idealistic notion that faces huge obstacles because of something that also seems simple, but isn't - that not everyone is accepted.
